ASCON developed KOMPAS-3D to handle enterprise mechanical projects with thousands of sub-assemblies, parts and standardized objects — without slowing down.

KOMPAS-3D creates three-dimensional associative models for individual parts and assembly units containing both original and standardized industrial elements — solid, surface, sheet-metal and object modeling under one roof.

Its defining strength is a proprietary geometric kernel and parametric technology developed by ASCON specialists — the engine that keeps every configuration associative and every variation instantaneous.

Solid Modeling

Solid Modeling

Starts by drafting 2D sketches, which you turn into 3D parts — fixing them with constraints, extruding by specified distances, revolving about their axis and so on. Refine parts with chamfers, fillets, cut-outs and stiffeners, then join multiple parts into complex assemblies using rules and 3D constraints.

Surface Modeling

Surface Modeling

Begins with 2D and 3D profiles built from curves, spatial lines and points. Create surfaces by extruding, revolving and generating along paths, or by defining sections and grids of curves. Trim, split, extend and add cutouts — assign a thickness and material, and KOMPAS-3D turns the surface into a solid.

Sheet Metal Modeling

Sheet Metal Modeling

Designs sheet metal parts, instrument packages, electrical cabinets and brackets — practically anything produced by bending and stamping. When the design is complete, generate dimensioned flat patterns automatically for the shop floor.

Object Modeling

Object Modeling

Instead of drawing sketches, add pre-drawn objects directly to assemblies. Design rapidly using typical industry parts — pipes, gears, fasteners and metal shapes. Objects understand how to behave with other parts and store useful metadata about themselves.
